Li Baifan

Shanghai Police Throw Practitioner Li Baifan From a Building and Murder Him [Minghui Net] Mr. Li Baifan, a male Falun Dafa Practitioner from Shanghai, around 40 years old, was a lecturer at the East China Normal University. Because he insisted on practicing Falun Dafa after the July 1999 ban, Mr. Li was detained at the Dafeng State Farm of Jiangsu Province, and then transferred to the Qingdong State Farm in Shanghai. He was not allowed to see his family for two years. Because he refused to cooperate with the anti-Dafa propaganda and "transformation," at the end of this April, police officers threw Li out of a tall building and Mr. Li died from the injuries he received. The responsible parties are claiming that Mr. Li committed suicide. We hope Falun Dafa practitioners and all kind-hearted people take notice of his death.

Li Weihong

Supplemental Information on the Persecution of Shanghai Practitioner Li Weihong Before She Died

By a Practitioner from China
(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of November 2000, Shanghai Falun Dafa practitioner Li Weihong and several other fellow practitioners had their temporary residence broken into by the Wenzhou Public Security Bureau officers and the "610 Office," They were forcefully arrested in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. All their personal properties including cash, cell phone and laptop computer, etc., were confiscated and not returned. In about June 2001, Wenzhou Municipal Court started the first illegal trial for the four of them. On that day, Li Weihong was carried into the court, since she had suffered greatly in detention and was emaciated, she could only weakly answer the questions posed to her with gestures such as nodding or shaking the head. She was so weak physically that she collapsed in the court and was carried in and out of the court several times. As a result, the court had to take a break in their illegal questioning each time she collapsed. At that time, there were practitioners' family and the lawyers representing her who were present. Later Li Weihong was bailed out for medical treatment, and was brought back to Shanghai by her stepfather. In June 2001, the Wenzhou Municipal Court issued an illegal verdict and Li Weihong was sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

At that time, another practitioner named Zhang Xinhong from Zhejiang Province was also on trial. Since November 2000, Zhang had been illegally jailed at Wenzhou Lucheng Labor Camp by the Wenzhou Public Security Bureau and the "610 Office" for over one year. At the end of 2001, Zhang was summarily sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. Zhang Xinhong is serving a term at the No. 4 Prison of Zhejiang Province. Zhang Xinghong's father was ill after being forced to give up practicing Falun Gong against his own will and died because of failing to respond to any medical treatment several days before the illegal verdict was issued.

Lu Xingguo

Mr. Lu Xingguo was a 45-year-old Dafa practitioner who lived in Pudongxin District, Shanghai. He was a kindhearted, honest, and sincere person. He started work in 1977 after graduating from junior high school. In 1980, he served as party secretary in the local party committee. In 1996, he obtained Dafa and started cultivation practice.

Since July 1999, Jiang's gang has been persecuting Falun Gong in a frenzy. Just because Lu Xingguo insisted on reading Falun Gong books and doing the exercises, he was arrested, beaten, and jailed on a number of occasions. In March 2001, he was arrested again and jailed in the Dafeng Farm (a labor camp) of Jiangsu Province for one-and-a-half years before he was released in September 2002.

According to news from Shanghai, the police in Pudongxin District suspected that Lu Xingguo had participated in making Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, so on March 13, 2003, they dispatched over one hundred policemen to his home to arrest him. Lu Xingguo was able to get away that day; however, he was forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid arrest. Two months later, Lu Xingguo returned home, but he was reported to the police. As a result, the district police took him away from home at around 7:00 p.m. on May 5. After being detained at the Zhangjiang Detention Center for over a month, Lu Xingguo was sentenced to three years of forced labor education and sent to Qingpu Third Labor Camp in Shanghai.

While in detention, because Lu Xingguo refused to give up his belief, he was subjected to brutal torture. On September 22, when his mother, also a practitioner, came to visit him, he told her that he had refused the forced labor for a month to protest the illegal persecution.

On October 16, 2003, Lu Xingguo's wife, daughter, and elder brother were suddenly summoned to the Qingpu Drug Rehabilitation Center. As soon as they arrived there, they were separated and sent to different rooms where dozens of police conducted a so-called "talk" with them, when in fact, the police were intimidating them. Only then did the family learn that Lu Xingguo had died. Yet the police deceived the family by claiming that he died of some illness. They did not allow the family to check the body. On the 17 th , the police informed Lu Xingguo's brother to come sign the death certificate. His brother requested the reason for his brother's death. While trying to make up a reason, the police couldn't justify themselves. But still the police didn't give the family any chance to take a look at the body. They hurriedly cremated the body the next day.

On the 18 th , over 60 policemen were stationed in the crematory to guard the body. When the family arrived, the police had already put clothes on the body. Still they did not allow the family to look at the body.

According to an eyewitness account, Lu Xingguo's face was nearly beyond recognition. There was no skin on his lip. All his teeth were gone. The skin near his ears was wrinkled. His hair was erect. There was blood on his neck and there were many marks on his body suggesting electric shocks.

Lu Xingguo was survived by his 60-year-old mother, a disabled and bedridden father, a wife, and a daughter of school age.

When someone called the Pudongxin District Police Department (86-21-50614567) and inquired about this incident, both a woman and a man who answered the phone did not admit to the above information, but they did not deny it either.

Ma Xinxing

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Ma Xinxing was a 40-year-old Dafa practitioner from Shanghai. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing many times to appeal for Falun Gong and clarify the truth, and he was arrested many times. He was once put in a mental hospital and tortured for three months. In November 2003, he was in grave danger due to the torture he received at the Qingpu Labor Camp in Shanghai. Not wanting to take the responsibility should he die, the camp released him. In December 2003, when fellow practitioners went to visit him, he was just skin and bones. Moreover, he was bedridden and could not eat or drink anything. He would throw up whatever he took in. His family members told the practitioners that he could no longer recognize people. When practitioners mentioned the experience of clarifying the truth together with him, he only had a blank look. However, when the practitioners mentioned "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," his eyes brightened, and there was a little smile on his face. Then tears welled up in his eyes. On December 14th,
2003, he passed away. http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/2/27/45554.html

(Clearwisdom.net) In late 1999, Falun Dafa practitioner Ma Xinxing from Shanghai was detained in a mental hospital for three months. The police and doctors claimed that practitioners detained in the hospital were suffering from psychosis. They also attempted to have practitioners give up their belief, threatening to turn the practitioners crazy. One of the tactics they used was to force practitioners to take harmful drugs. If practitioners refused to take the drugs, the police and doctors oftentimes resorted to force-feeding.

Ma Xinxing once went to Beijing to appeal and was brutally beaten by the police. Shanghai authorities sentenced him to three years of forced labor education in retaliation for his appeal. What Jiang Zemin fears most is when practitioners exercise their rights bestowed by the Constitution and go to Beijing to appeal. Jiang has issued orders to leaders at all levels in the government, ordering them to keep close watch on practitioners and not to allow practitioners to appeal. Once practitioners from a certain area are found appealing in Beijing, leaders in that area will be punished.

During the SARS epidemic in 2003, Jiang fled to Shanghai to hide. After his arrival in Shanghai, the police there became more rampant in persecuting Dafa practitioners. Authorities of the Third Labor Camp in Shanghai brutally tortured Ma Xinxing, which eventually led to his death.
