Wang Chang’an, chief surgeon, director of the Center for Kidney Transplant and Kidney Disease Diagnosis and Treatment of Zhengzhou City Seventh People’s Hospital[1]
Director of Zhengzhou Urology Research Institute. Member of the Organ Transplant Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, deputy director level member of the Henan Organ Transplant Society, member of the Henan Medical Ethics Committee, deputy director level member of the Zhengzhou Nephrology Society, and executive member of the Henan Provincial Kidney Disease Professional Committee. Engaged in urology for more than 30 years, participated in nearly a thousand organ transplants, and has accumulated rich experience in pre-residual preparation, perioperative management, organ removal, and the rational application of immunosuppressants after kidney transplantation. The kidney transplantation and kidney disease diagnosis and treatment center of Zhengzhou Seventh People's Hospital led by him performs about 150 kidney transplants per year, and has been at the forefront in the province in terms of kidney transplant number and quality. More than 2,300 kidney transplants have been completed in total.[2]

Hu Yalan: Sixty or seventy cases have been done this year. We only do brain dead ones. People still can’t take it in their minds! Even though the criteria for organ donation have been met, if family members can’t take it, we still can’t do it.

Summary
Nurse: More than 100 surgeries can be done a year, ten were done last month, and 600 or 700 surgeries have been done this month. There are quite many type B cases. About kidney donor sources, I am not able to tell you about it.

Summary
Dr. Wu: We do more than Henan Province People’s Hospital, and we’ve done about 100 cases. A kidney source fee of 160,000 rmb yuan needs to be paid. After the patient (i.e. the donor) is brought here, he will be placed in the ICU...the ICU and the operating room are side by side. (The excision and transplant) are basically synchronous.
