The Consequences China Is Suffering 27 Years After April 25th Incident
Rally Speech by Wang Zhiyuan, Chairman of the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party
Distinguished guests, friends, and fellow compatriots who still care about the future of China:
Today, we are standing here not just for an anniversary. We are standing at a historical watershed moment.
Twenty-seven years ago, on April 25, 1999, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners stood quietly on Fuyou Street near Zhongnanhai in Beijing. There were no slogans, no banners, no protests.
Only a group of people who wished to be good people and to live according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" were using the most peaceful means to report their situation to the government.
That day could have been a starting point for China's move towards rationality, the rule of law, and respect for faith. However, the CCP chose a different path.
Three months later, a nationwide crackdown began.
Friends, if we look back at these past twenty-seven years, you will find that this was not merely the persecution of one group. It was a historical turning point—one that changed the fate of China.
Because from that moment on, China's laws were rewritten, justice was reversed, kindness was suppressed, speaking the truth became risky, and being a good person became a price to pay.
A state began using its entire machinery to suppress a group of people who wanted to become better.
This was no just political error. It was the destruction of the very foundation of civilization.
Many would say: This is just politics.
But I want to tell everyone today—this is no politics.
This is a choice between good and evil.
Over the past 27 years, China's economy has experienced rapid growth, with skyscrapers rising and cities flourishing. However, behind the scenes, in prisons, labor camps, and brainwashing centers, countless Falun Gong practitioners have been enduring suffering.
On one hand, there has been prosperity; on the other, persecution. On one hand, there has been material expansion; on the other, moral decline.
This phenomenon of "prosperity and evil coexisting" has occurred before in history.
At its zenith, the Roman Empire persecuted Christians. It didn't collapse immediately, but its foundations began to rot from that moment.
Today's China is walking the same path.
History never alters its judgment of good and evil simply because of a regime’s self-claimed strength.
Even more shocking is that history has already started responding.
Over the past decade, a number of high-ranking officials who were directly involved in the persecution of Falun Gong have fallen one after another.
Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Li Dongsheng, Fu Zhenghua… these once powerful figures all ultimately met their demise.
Is this merely a political struggle?
If it were one or two individuals, it could be explained that way.
But when an entire system, a whole group of people, falls one by one—this is no accident.
It is a pattern.
From the central government to local authorities, according to continuous records, a large number of officials involved in the persecution have faced imprisonment, illness, or accidental death.
Their trajectories are strikingly consistent: they persecuted others to gain power; they attached themselves to power to rise to high positions; ultimately, in fear, reckoning, and collapse, they lost everything.
This is what the ancient Chinese meant by: good and evil are rewarded accordingly.
Friends,
The consequences of this persecution have gone much further.
For the past twenty-seven years, an even darker and more shocking atrocity has been ongoing.
That is, the large-scale harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
For many years, investigations and testimonies from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) and other international organizations have consistently pointed to the existence of a systematic crime of forced organ harvesting in China, with Falun Gong practitioners being one of the primary victims.
This is not an isolated case, not an underground crime,
but a state-sponsored genocide orchestrated by the CCP.
Even more terrifying is that, when such evil is not stopped in time, it won't remain confined to a single group.
It will spread. It will become socialized.
Today, we see that mass disappearances in China, rampant black market organ trafficking, and even horrific cases of forced organ harvesting reported in some Southeast Asian regions, such as telecom fraud industrial parks in Myanmar. What does this mean?
It means, when a country allows such crimes to be committed against a group of innocent people, ultimately, everyone could become a victim.
This is why in Chinese society today, everyone lives in fear.
Because when there’s no bottom line to what the evil can do, anyone could become the next target.
Friends, the crisis China faces today is, on the surface, an economic problem, an unemployment problem, and a real estate problem. But the real problem is, a society has long treated good as the enemy.
When a country rewards evil and punishes good, when people become accustomed to silence, escapism, and "it's none of my business," then ultimately everyone will pay the price.
This is why Chinese society today is filled with insecurity, mutual harm, and fear.
But, my friends, history has not closed all doors.
Today, we still see hope.
As of April 15, 2026, more than 460 million people worldwide have chosen to renounce their membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), its Communist Youth League, and its Young Pioneers.
The global petition to "End the CCP" has garnered over 5.2 million signatures.
What does this represent?
It represents, awakening is underway. It represents, the Chinese people, even the entire humankind, are making a new choice.
Today, I want to say something very clearly here: The future of China will not be built on lies, persecution, or the suppression of goodness.
The future of China can only be built on truth, conscience, faith, and freedom.
Therefore, the question today is actually very simple: Which side are you on?
Are you on the side of persecution? Or on the side of conscience?
Are you bound to the fate of the CCP? Or are you choosing a way out for yourself and your family?
Quitting the CCP is not a mere formality. It is a choice. It is a stance. It is a decision concerning the future.
Friends, twenty-seven years ago, on April 25th, a group of people chose peace.
Today, history has placed the opportunity to choose in each and every one of us.
We can remain silent, or we can step forward.
We can continue to be held hostage, or we can choose freedom.
Let us remember: History waits not for those who hesitate. Fate does not favor those who evade.
Today, we are standing here not only to commemorate the past, but for the future. To guide China back onto the right path. To enable the world to return to its normalcy.
At the same time, we must clearly state to the world: the international community's investigation and pursuit of accountability for all crimes committed by the CCP against Falun Gong practitioners will never cease.
The purpose of the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) is very clear: investigate all crimes of persecution against Falun Gong, as well as related institutions, organizations, and individuals. No matter where they are, no matter how long it will take, we will pursue them to the end, upholding justice, restoring fairness, and restoring righteousness on earth.
Justice may be delayed, but it will never be absent.
Let us make a choice together: Break away from the CCP, reject persecution, and uphold our conscience.
Because only in this way can China, and the world, have a future.
Thank you all.
